Samsung’s 5G Galaxy Z Flip latest leaks

We knew a 5G version of Samsung’s vertically folding Galaxy Z flip clamshell was at the manner, after the first photographs leaked earlier this month. Now, we've a whole leaked video and a set of rumors approximately the new “Samsung Galaxy Z flip 5G” that appears to go away not anything to the imagination — and advocate it might be equipped for Samsung’s upcoming August 5th Galaxy Unpacked occasion.

Basically, it seems like it’ll be almost the identical folding smartphone but with a quicker processor and 5G.

Based on smartphone leaker Evan Blass’ video — which suggests the smartphone from practically every perspective — it looks almost identical to the authentic LTE model that went on sale on February 14th. The simplest differences apart from 5G assist and a new “mystic bronze” coloration, in line with XDA-developers’ Max Weinbach, is that it’ll be oh-so-barely taller and thicker, and be powered by means of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 865 Plus chip — a small spec bump over the Snapdragon 855 Plus that came in the authentic.

The phone may also have the identical size battery, in line with Weinbach, which makes us marvel how lengthy it'd closing on a price — the original wasn’t a battery champ, and now it’ll reportedly have 5G and a quicker processor to power as properly.

Chinese language telecommunications certification center TENAA formerly corroborated that the phone could probable have the Snapdragon 865 Plus chip, and the wireless energy Consortium additionally indexed a “Samsung Galaxy Z flip 5G” as a phone that could guide wireless charging, so it feels like that’s probably the name and your wireless chargers will hold running. (you can thank MySmartPrice for spotting both of these.)

Whilst 5G might be the flagship characteristic right here, 5G phones still have far to head before they're the brand new ordinary. Even though 5G could make downloads faster and cloud services respond faster — depending on the type of 5G — there are numerous tradeoffs like how plenty 5G telephones cost and whether or not you’ll be capable of without problems find a signal.
